Integration with Ego ART

We ensured the integration of the CartaMe mobile app with the Ego ART retail chain's loyalty program, built on 1C: Trade Management 8.3, so that CartaMe users could become participants in the chain's loyalty program and use their single Loyalty ID as a participant identifier.

As part of the project, integration was implemented between CartaMe and the client's accounting system to transfer new users who had provided consent to participate in the loyalty program. At the first stage, the data required for participant registration and their further identification in the program were transmitted to the client's system.

A key feature of the project was the logic of step-by-step customer profile formation. After the user's first visit to the store and purchase, the profile in 1C was activated. Subsequently, in accordance with the user's previously provided consents for personal data processing, the system could request and use additional information necessary for fully managing the loyalty program participant's profile.

On the CartaMe side, API exchange specifications, a test environment and secure interaction logic between the systems were prepared. This enabled stable data exchange, simplified the onboarding of new participants and ensured compliance with personal data processing requirements.

Development stages

1
Studied the client's accounting system architecture.
2 hrs
Conducted an audit of the accounting system — counterparty directories, document flow and accumulation registers. Identified optimal integration points for transferring Loyalty ID and consent statuses.
2
Prepared API exchange specifications for integration.
5 hrs
Developed a detailed API specification: data formats, scenarios for participant creation, Loyalty ID transfer, consent updates and profile activation.
3
Deployed a test environment.
6 hrs
Created an isolated test environment — copies of the accounting system, loyalty program and front-end services. A safe environment for testing scenarios: registration, pending activation, first purchase, Loyalty ID application — without risk to production data.
4
Configured the transfer of new loyalty program participants.
8 hrs
Automated the transfer of new participant data from the loyalty program to the accounting system at the moment of registration. The participant is created in 1C with the status "pending activation" — without duplicates or manual entry.
5
Implemented the use of Loyalty ID as the participant identifier.
6 hrs
Implemented Loyalty ID as a universal key across the loyalty program, accounting system and POS. Unambiguous linking of the bonus account, purchase history and consent statuses — duplicates and data loss during exchanges are eliminated.
6
Configured the logic for profile activation after the first purchase.
4 hrs
Implemented delayed activation: the participant's profile becomes fully active in the accounting system only after the first purchase and bonus redemption/accrual. This protects the database from "dead" registrations and improves the quality of loyalty analytics.
7
Ensured the correct handling of consents for personal data processing.
5 hrs
Configured end-to-end transfer of consent statuses from the collection interface to the counterparty card in the accounting system.
8
Conducted joint testing and launch of the integration.
2 hrs
Organized cross-functional testing with business process participants: registration, deferred activation, first purchase, Loyalty ID application, consent handling. Verified positive and negative scenarios.

What the client got:
- A CartaMe user provides consent to participate in the Ego ART retail chain's loyalty program.
- Loyalty ID is used as a single participant identifier in the client's accounting system.
- After the first purchase, the user profile in 1C is activated.
- The system can then use additional customer information within the scope of previously provided consents for personal data processing.
- The integration simplified the onboarding of new program participants and ensured correct management of customer profiles in the loyalty system.
